Most famous Las Vegas casinos

Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino: first opened in 1963 as Tally-Ho, the resort was been changed to King's Crown Hotel in 1964, The Aladdin in 1998, and since 2007 is known as Planet Hollywood. The hotel has 52 floors with 2,567 rooms, each one dedicated to a movie. Planet Hollywood was the first Las Vegas casino to offer table games dealt by young ladies dressed only in chic lingerie. The casino also has a special section called The Pleasure Pit where go-go dancers entertain the gamblers while playing.

Tropicana Resort & Casino: opened in 1957, Tropicana is one of the oldest Las Vegas casinos. It was renovated three times in 1979, 1986 and in 2010. With 1,658 rooms and a 4,600 m2 casino, Tropicana is not a big resort compared to the others Las Vegas hotels and casinos, but certainly is one of the most famous being mentioned in films such as “Viva Las Vegas”, “James Bond: Diamonds Are Forever” and “The Godfather Part II”.

Stratosphere Las Vegas: opened in 1996, Stratosphere is a gambling resort featuring a tower, a hotel and a casino. The Stratosphere Tower has 350.2 meters, being the tallest structure in Las Vegas and the tallest tower in the United States. The hotel has 2,427 rooms and 7,400 m2 gaming space. The main attraction of the resort is the tower that has two observation decks, a restaurant “Top of the World” and three thrill rides.

Excalibur Hotel and Casino: launched in June 1990, this resort has a unique theme: the Camelot Kingdom and the Excalibur sword story. At the time of opening, the 4,008 rooms’ hotel was the largest hotel in the world. In 2003 a $39,713,982 Megabucks Jackpot was hit, making the 9,300 m2 Excalibur Casino famous all over the world.

Luxor Las Vegas: opened in 1993, this resort is based on one of the most intriguing themes present in the Las Vegas Strip: a contemporary pharaoh’s city.  The 4,407 room’s hotel is designed as a black glass pyramid, making it one of the most recognizable structures in the city. The tip of the pyramid has a very strong spotlight pointing straight up considered the brightest beam in the world. It is said that at night the Luxor beam is visible from as far as 400 km. The casino is about 11,000 m2, but the resort is more famous for the entertaining attraction such as the live show "Criss Angel: Believe".
