US dollar, the strongest currency for now

US dollar, the strongest currency for nowCurrently Europe is dealing with the worst crisis since unification and United Kingdom is still having troubles, so US dollar seems to be the best choice these days. The Greek crisis was just the beginning of the most difficult period in the European Union history.

Trying to help Greece to overcome its financial issues, European Union has destabilized the common currency, the euro. Recently euro reached the lowest level in the last 4 years, the exchange rate going down to 1.236 USD per one EUR. The establishment of an international fund to help Eurozone members prevented de euro to go further down, but problems are far away from being solved.

Portugal, Spain, Italy and Romania are on the severe financial problems list and they risk ending up like Greece. Because of that situation and due to the fact that most Forex traders run for safety, the USD is now considered the strongest and safest currency.

Because of the extended European Union problems, United States internal issues seem smaller and even if things are not too good, USD started to attract more traders and gained more value. Forex experts say that the dollar appreciation is only temporary and once the once the water will settle down in Eurozone the European currency will bounce back and will regain the lost ground against the USD.
