The future of poker

The future of pokerPoker is currently one of the most popular games around the world. Poker can be played with your best friends at home, in the casinos and even on the internet against players from all over the globe. Its rules are quite easy and the game is very exciting but in order to win you definitely need some skills besides your personal luck.

The number of online poker rooms is increasing and due to the continuously growing number of internet users the number of new poker players follows the trend.

The poker legends like the old Doyle Brunson, which became famous in the 1970s, were just the first from a long list of renowned names. Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu represent the modern generation of professional poker players that play poker live in casinos but also play online.

In the last few years the number of online tournaments increased and a new type of poker players appeared. They are very young, around 18-20 years old, and spend several hours a day playing ring games or online tournaments. These young amateurs constantly qualify to the major live tournaments and some of them managed to finish in the top. Players like Tom "durrrr" Dwan and Annette Obrestad are the best examples of the next generation of poker players.

Online poker rooms enable people to get in touch with the real poker game at younger ages, so is expected that in the next few years the number of successful young poker players to increase. Probably in the next decade, the play money poker will become the teenagers’ favorite game while the professional poker players will be younger each year.

Thanks to the internet we can say for sure that the future of poker is brighter than ever before.
