PKR Heads Up Grand SlamAfter improving the software graphics and the social part of the game, PKR started to improve tournaments. Now players have more interesting tournaments to choose from. PKR launched the Primetime tournaments, a unique concept that brings you something new every day.

The Primetime tournament will start daily at 19:15 GMT. Every day these tournaments will have different buy-ins and different structures including freezeouts, rebuys, deepstacks and terminators. Although guarantees will also vary, it will continue to offer the day’s biggest guaranteed prize pool on PKR.

For October PKR scheduled a special event: the televised tournament PKR Heads Up Grand Slam. The 32 seats tournament will bring some world’s best poker players heads-up. Some poker superstars that already confirmed presence are: Tom “Durrrr” Dwan, Luke “Full Flush” Schwartz, Annette Obrestad, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Vicky Coren, Nam Le, Sammy “Any Two” George, Roland de Wolfe, JC Tran, Andrew Feldman and Roberto Romanello.

The Grand Slam will take place in London between the 8-10 October 2009 and has a buy-in of $10,000. The total prize pool of the PKR Heads Up Grand Slam is $350,000.  With so many poker superstars and so much money everyone wants to take part. Unfortunately the tournament has just 32 players that are allowed only on invitation.

The best part is that PKR offers four $12,000 packages to play in the PKR Heads Up Grand Slam. The four lucky poker players will be decided through a heads up shootout Grand Final lasting for three nights. The buy –in for the final is $1,500 but PKR offers all players the chance to qualify through satellites with just $6.68 buy-in.

The Grand Final will run online at PKR on 29 September with three rounds of heads up matches. For the first round the 32 players qualified from satellites will be randomly drawn into 16 heads up matches. Winners will automatically go into the second round of 8 heads up matches again randomly drawn. The 8 winners will go to the progress to the final round from where the best 4 will win a package to play in the televised event. The Grand Final heads up matches will have a deepstack structure, with 10,000 starting chip stacks and 10 minute blind levels.

If you want to play the Grand Final with less cash you have many options to choose from:

-    Grand Slam Speed tournament: $31 + $3 buy-in on every (1 in 50 qualify);
-    Grand Slam (6 seater): $50 + $5 (1 in 31 qualify);
-    Grand Slam Rebuy: $10 + $0.50;
