The $5 to $100,000 Challenge: mission accomplished

The $5 to $100,000 Challenge: mission accomplishedLast year Thomas Boekhoff, a Supernova Elite in 2007 at Poker Stars came up with a special challenge: to turn $5 into $100,000 in just one year, playing poker only at Poker Stars. This was the second challenge he took, the first one, to turn $100 into $10, 000 in 15 days, being a real success.

The rules of the $100,000 dare were quite simple: Boku87, was allowed to play only Sit and Go’s and freerolls. He started with $0.25 Sit & Go’s and 10 months later, after 45,000 tournaments he reached $100,384.

In order to accomplish the task, Boekhoff had to play for eight hours a day, every day. His best ally is the multi-tabling skill that allows him to play at up to 50 tables in the same time.

Before this huge challenge, Boekhoff showed his poker skills in 2008 when he finished on the 14th place at the European Poker Tour (EPT) Monte Carlo Grand Final. The $100,000 dare was a real challenge proving that Boekhoff is a very good poker player, with a great money management and most of all a persistent, hardworking poker player.

After this difficult challenge successfully accomplished almost two months before the deadline, we all look forward to see what Thomas Boekhoff will do next. As we know him it should be a greater challenge.
