The most important aspect at this point is to decide if you should continue playing the hand or if you should fold. Usually beginners playing on low stakes make the wrong choice and keep playing even if they have weak hands. Most of times on turn, just few players remained into the game. Before you act is necessary to evaluate your hand and your situation in game. If you think you have the best hand you must make aggressive bets especially if you play on low stakes (if you make small bets on low stakes is easy for other players to call and your chances to win the hand can decrease). This way you build up a nice pot and eliminate some players. If your opponent raises, you must reanalyze the strength of your hand comparing it to what your opponent can have. If you’re not sure you have the best hand you can consider folding. The best thing to do in case you have a rather strong hand is to call to a decent bet. If the opponent makes a big bet or raises is better to fold because he might have a stronger hand. If all the players before you check, probably they have medium or weak hands and want to see the river. In this situation it’s ok to make a bet to force them out of the game or to increase the pot. Taking more players out of the game makes it easier for you to win the hand. If you have a weak hand and make it to the turn you should only check. Do not pay to see the river card hoping to save your hand because it won’t, so do not hesitate to fold weak hands. Generally beginner players having less experience don’t fold when the time is right and end up losing money on the turn card just to fold on the river. Do you want to make a bluff? Think twice! A bluff should be well played from the start in order to fool all players. You should continue bluffing only if you’re sure you can force the opponent to fold. Especially if you play on low stakes you risk to be called and raised so is much safer to save your money for another hand and let this one go. |

In Texas Holdem the turn is an important stage in the game because if you play it well can increase your bankroll and if you play it wrong can cost you a major part of your bankroll. The turn strategy is based on the pre flop and flop strategy. If the pre flop and the flop are not well played, following a certain strategy, the turn can be a complete disaster.
