Large sports competitions vs. small competitions

Large sports competitions vs. small competitionsThere are people who place sports bets because they are fans of the team or athlete while others bet just for fun. The smallest category of bettors is the one composed of people who bet for a living. They are not many, but they can make a lot of money.

The best part of betting is that these days, thanks to the internet, you can bet any time, with just one click, on any sports competition. There are just few large, international sports events each year, while the biggest ones like the Olympics, World Cup and European Championship take place every few years. On the other hand you can find small sports competition to bet on all the time.

The largest sports events like the Olympics, Football World Cup, European Football Championship, Champions League and Europa League attract lots of bettors especially the amateurs which mainly bet on these large events. The professional sports bettors need to bet all the time so they need to focus also on the smaller competitions in order to have a constant activity.

Watching a whole year sports calendar you can easily notice two periods with lower action: about one month in the winter and one-two months in the summer. These are the so called winter and summer brake because in many sports these are the mid season brake or the end of the season brake.

The weather also plays an important role in these brakes because for many sports the weather during those months is inappropriate for outdoor sports. Yet you can still find smaller sports events to bet during these brake periods because major bookmakers like Ladbrokes, Unibet and Bet US will always have something for the bettors.
