The match was consumptive not only for the two tennis players, but also for the umpire and the audience. While the two gladiators where fighting against each other and their own exhausted bodies, the umpire was fighting with the uncomfortable chair and the worse enemy, the sleep. At one point, in the second day of battle, some British bookmakers even started to offer 100-1 odds on whether Mohamed Lahyani, the umpire, would eventually fall asleep during the game. On the third day of the epic match, all major bookmakers offered equal odds for the two tennis players that will remain in the written history of tennis to the end of time. The odds were 1.84 at Unibet and 1.83 at Paddy Power and Ladbrokes. The mach finally ended after a total of 11 hours and 5 minutes with the 68-70 score in the last set. After three days of intense, exhausting game, John Isner advanced to the second round of the Wimbledon Gentlemen's Singles. |

After two days of playing, there still wasn’t a winner so the longest tennis match ever played seemed to never end. Today the match restarted from 4-6, 6-3, 7-6, 6-7, 59-59. Both players have a very strong will and don’t want to give up. Besides the record of the longest tennis match ever, the battle between the French Niclosa Mahut and the American John Isner broke some other record including longest set, most games in a set, most games in a match and most aces.
